Styles and selection have really exploded so that the wedding party looks fantastic individ
ually and as a whole. Traditionally, bridesmaids wore dresses identical to each other, but now the bride can opt for different dresses for her attendants. Two piece styles allow for a variety of tops within the s
ame color and fabric or a maid /matron of honor can stand out with a varied style than the other attendants.
We have put together some guidelines to help you select bridesmaids' gowns with the greatest ease. When these steps are followed, the selection, sizing and delivery of gowns will be worry free! We are pleased to offer you a large selection from leading designers.
"10 Ways To Have Happy Bridesmaids"
- If you have two or more attendants, choose a style that will flatter all body types. The A-line style works well for all figures.
- It is beneficial for you to select a few styles and colors for your bridesmaids, then let them choose from your selections. This will save you many hours of decision-making and frustration. Consider bringing one attendant with you to help you with your selections. Fewer choices make it much easier to come to a decision for the whole party.
- We will provide you with bridesmaids' measurement instructions to be given to each of your out of area attendants. They can be measured anywhere as long as it is done profession ally. Simply have them phone their measurements in along with a 50% deposit. Our store accepts cash, personal checks, Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. To ensure timeliness of your bridesmaids' order, provide your bridal party with a deadline to return all measurements and deposits.
- You will then confirm that all deposits and measurements have been received by the store. This will give you the confidence and assurance that all bridesmaids' gowns will be or dered at the exact same time. Gowns are not ordered until all deposits have been received for the whole wedding party, so you can be certain all gowns will be cut from the same dye lot.
- Sizing is always "by the book"…the manufacturer's book. Bridesmaids' gowns are not custom-made, but special ordered according to the manufacturers' size charts. To d etermine the size that will best satisfy our customer, we will compare the measurements from the manufacturer size chart to those of the customer. We will always consider the largest of the customer's measurements and then choose the size that will be the easiest to alter. A bridal consultant will go over the measurement and size chart with you before a size is selected. She will offer advice, but leave the final decision to you.
- If a person is over 5'8", an extra length charge from the manufacturer may be necessary. If the person is size 18 (in some cases 16) or above, there may also be an extra size charge from the manufacturer.
- The average delivery time for bridesmaids' gowns is approximately 10-12 weeks. Some manufacturers offer a quicker delivery service with a "rush cut" charge.
- Once the gowns have arrived, you will be notified by phone. It is your responsibility to notify your bridesmaids that the gowns have arrived. (If you move or change your phone number or address, please remember to notify the store immediately to update your records.) Please advise your attendants that dresses must be picked up and paid in full within 5 business days days of notification unless other arrangements have been made.
- ALTERATIONS WILL ALMOST ALWAYS BE NECESSARY... AND WILL ALWAYS BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE. We do not do alterations on site, rather we refer our customers to Mary Robbins of Robbins Alteratons, at 414-443-0992.
- To assure the proper fit at their alteration appointment, each bridesmaid will need to bring the shoes and undergarments she will be wearing with her gown. We offer an excellent selection of bras, slips and shoes at reasonable prices.
